Joseph A. Davis, 62, passed away August 15, 2020 surrounded by his family. Joseph was born December 7, 1957 in Carlsbad, NM to Arlas and Geraldine (Emery) Davis. He graduated from Carlsbad High School in 1975. Joe attended Texas Tech, Eastern New Mexico State University and NMSU-Carlsbad. He became a journeyman electrician and received his electrical contractor’s license. Joe married Ruth Garcia June 2, 1979 here in Carlsbad. During his career, he worked at AMAX, Southwestern Public Service twenty years and was employed with Carlsbad Caverns National Park almost twenty years. Joe was preceded in death by his parents and grandson, Jordan Davis.
Survivors are his wife, Ruth Davis; son, Jason Davis and wife, Alicia; grandchildren: Kori Davis and James Davis; sister, Marcie Price; nieces: Kathryn Price and Jennifer Price; great-niece, Reagan.
