Jose "Cheche" Castillo

Jose “Cheche” Castillo, 80, of N. 3rd Street, Loving, NM, passed away January 5, 2021 at

his home. 0Cheche was born August 7, 1940 in Loving, NM to Jose Calanche and De La

Luz (Rascon) Castillo. He attended school in Loving and Carlsbad. Cheche was known for

his asado, his love for music, fishing and watching the 49ers.  He also loved spending time

with all his friends at his home, outside under the trees.  Cheche was preceded in death by

his parents; son, Joel Castillo; sisters: Clara Ramirez, Mary Olivo and Olga Florez.

Survivors are his wife of 53 years, Guadalupe Castillo; son, Jose Castillo, III and wife,

Brenda; daughter, Kendra Granado and fiancé, Justin; brother, Pete “Canano” Castillo;

grandchildren: Joel and Stormie Castillo and Laurynn Salas.
