Claudine Holderness, 104, of Carlsbad, passed away June 18, 2020, at Goodlife Assisted Living.
Claudine was born on February 14, 1916, in Stanford, TX to Claude and Winifred Holderness.
She lived a life of inspiring thousands of young people to work hard and reach their full
potential, teaching for almost 50 years in the Carlsbad Municipal School District. Claudine was
preceded in death by her parents and brothers: William “Bill” Holderness and Herbert “Hub”
Holderness.
Survivors are her nieces: Anne Carlton (Michael) of Florida, Dr. Katharine Cole (Clifford
Brown) of Maryland, Terry Holderness McAdams (Johnny) of Texas; nephew, William “Bill”
Holderness (Maria) of Pennsylvania; 9 great-nieces and nephews; 1 great-great niece; cousin,
Kathleen Wheeler of Texas; close friends: Susie and James Bindel and family.
